Grand Openings | 10/30/11

Whittier First Day Coalition is a Recovery from homelessness program that just opened its newly expanded Health Clinic. I am producing, directing and editing the event and it will be released shortly. It is very exciting because this launches the beginning of Jon Texas Films! I am expanding towards not only Production Design but Films, Events, Internet Marketing and ANY new media that needs video or motion graphics!

R00Ts. | 10/6/11

Thinking about my history and background I am defiantly grateful for my roots. I started becoming interested in the arts and I enrolled in Idyllwild Arts (formerly Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts or ISOMATA). ISOMATA, when I attended, had a theatre based summer camp where set building, dressing, acting, costume design replaced archery and forest survival skills. In the far away forests of Idyllild I had my two first loves. Stephanie, or Aimee, I forget and the arts. To this day I remember the plays that I acted in and the sets I helped build. I think I will always be a stagehand at heart.

Three Veils Rakes in the Wins! | 10/2/11

Three Veils has just won another award at the 10th Aarpa Film Festival. Hosted this September at the famous Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, the festival hosted a Questions and Answer Panel with film makers and awarded Ahmed Zahra with Best Picture of the Festival. This win is the first for Mr. Ahmed Zahra and one of many for Three Veils, Including the Winner NYCIFF, Audience Prize at the 2011 San Francisco International Women\'s Film Festival and the Portland International.
